Regime III Board Election Process
In March or April, the Regime President will advise homeowners that one or more of the seven (7) Board member terms will expire in June, and nominations for the Board vacancies are invited. Any owner nominated (by self or others) must indicate their willingness to serve if elected. Ballots are provided to the Regime homeowners and the votes are counted at the Regime Annual Meeting usually held in May.
ELECTION OF REGIME BOARD OFFICERS
Once the new Regime Board is constituted, it meets for an organization meeting prior to the next fiscal year to select the following Board officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Representatives to the Board of Stewards. The President and Vice President must be Directors, and all other officers must be individuals who are qualified to be Directors. The Secretary and Treasurer may be filled by the same individual. These officers are elected at the first regular or special meeting of the Board following the Annual Meeting.
UNEXPIRED REGIME BOARD MEMBERS TERMS
Vacancies of Board Members or Officers are selected by a majority vote of the remaining Directors. The replacements will serve the unexpired term.
BOARD OF STEWARDS COMPOSITION & OFFICER ELECTIONS
The Belle Isle Yacht Club (BIYC) Board of Stewards (BOS) is assembled from representatives sent by Regimes (i.e., they are elected at the regime board level). The number of representatives from each regime is determined by the percentage of ownership/units of BIYC. Regime III has 28 units and therefore sends two (2) representatives to the Board of Stewards. At the BIYC Annual Meeting prior to July 1st when the new BOS takes office, the new BOS members meet to elect their officers according to the process outlined in BIYC Bylaws.
